My name is Heather Schulz. I am married to someone familiar to many of you, Ian Schulz. Mr. Schulz teaches Art at Ardmore, Harmon and Princeton Elementary Schools. We have 2 children that are into many activities! My son is in the 10th grade at Berkley High School. He is a huge sports fan! He likes to play basketball, but watches and knows about EVERY SPORT! My daughter is in the 8th grade and is athletic, too, but also very creative. She is a dancer, plays travel soccer, and plays basketball, volleyball and runs track for her middle school.
I love teaching science, but teaching was not my first career. I graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Sports Medicine. I worked as an Athletic Trainer for several years, and although I liked it, I liked being around student athletes more. I decided to be a teacher (like my mom and dad), so I went to Eastern Michigan University. Since I started teaching at Jefferson, in 1997, I have earned a Master's degree in Educational Leadership. I definitely made the right decision, I love this job! I have taught at Jefferson for 22 years, 21 of those years have been spent in the same classroom...room 211 is like my second home! I hope that this year (my 23rd year) is a great one for you and me, and I hope that you will feel welcome, and comfortable, and find that room 211 is a place that you will learn and grow as a student, a person, and a scientist! |
